muscle testing

Office visits with Dr. Maxfield, Becca, and Kelli utilize muscle testing to identify opportunities to support the body and alleviate symptoms. At every appointment, your practitioner will discuss improvements and symptoms you’ve experienced since your last visit. She will then muscle test you and provide an updated treatment plan of recommended supplements, their dosages and lifestyle changes. During your office visit, your practitioner will also discuss with you whether diagnostic testing is needed at this time. For established patients, office visits are recommended every two to six months (depending on current health status) to ensure your body is receiving exactly what it needs to achieve ongoing, optimal health.

Acute Symptom Visit

This service is a quick and precise way to support our patients when they experience an acute condition (e.g., sudden onset of headaches, digestive changes, difficulty recovering from viral or bacterial infections). By utilizing muscle testing, our practitioners can determine which all-natural supplements will help you to feel better quickly!

Chiropractic Care

Dr. Maxfield and Dr. Heathcote both use low-force, gentle adjustment techniques and provide soft tissue work. The main focus is providing extra time to work on the muscles and soft tissues. This will help your adjustment to hold in its proper placement for longer – and it will help you feel better more quickly! The chiropractic techniques offered at the office are Logan Basic, Craniosacral, SOT, Diversified and Activator techniques, and Gua Sha.

Craniosacral Fascial Therapy

Craniosacral Fascial Therapy (CFT) is a gentle approach for releasing tight fascia, which is the connective tissue that supports muscles and nerves throughout the body. CFT sessions with Betsy are focused on the gentle manipulation of muscles to release craniosacral fascial strain and optimize the flow of cerebrospinal fluid. In doing so, CFT supports the nervous system and alleviates dozens of health conditions, including digestive difficulties, headaches, mood disorders, brain fog, allergies, physical pain, and more. These sessions are valuable for all ages, including infants and young children.

PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field) Mat Therapy

Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) mats utilize low-frequency magnetic fields to send healing energy into the body. The electromagnetic waves generated by PEMF promote recovery on a cellular level. PEMF mats are most commonly used to alleviate physical pain — including pain from injuries, everyday body aches, and chronic conditions such as arthritis. However, long-term use of PEMF mats also provides numerous mental health benefits, including reduced stress levels and improved mood. Established patients can book a PEMF treatment during their chiropractic adjustments with Dr. Heathcote.

 FAQs

What is muscle testing?

Muscle testing (or applied kinesiology) is an assessment technique that offers incredible accuracy. This technique helps determine the root cause of any condition, as well as the specific nutrition and supplement regimen to support it. All of our protocols are natural and non-invasive, but they also require discipline on the patient’s part to achieve the best possible results. By supporting detoxification and providing the body with great nutrients and targeted supplements, it is amazing how quickly a person can feel better!

How does muscle testing work?

Here’s how it works: the practitioner applies slight pressure simultaneously to the patient’s arm and to reflex points on the body that are associated with different organs and glands. If the arm muscle weakens when tested, this is a sign that there is a weakness in the organ system associated with that reflex point. This allows the practitioner to identify which areas of the body require support to alleviate symptoms.

What pathogens can be identified with muscle testing?

Many physical conditions that people develop are from hidden stressors, including “stealth” pathogens and environmental triggers. Through the use of homeopathic vials during the muscle test, our providers can check and manage these stressors — including heavy metals, chemicals, food allergens, viruses, parasites, fungus, and bacteria.

Who benefits from chiropractic care?

The short answer is … everyone — even if you don’t have physical pain! The nervous system is the “master controller” of the entire body, and all major nerves are housed in the spine. Spinal misalignments can therefore affect all organs and body systems. By bringing your body back into alignment, chiropractic care supports the nervous system’s function and enhances overall health. You’ll feel your adjustment’s effects on your sleep patterns, digestion, stress levels, mental clarity, and more!
